Scarecrows in the Park: Your Guide to October 2026 in Plymouth, Michigan

Fall Takes Over Downtown Plymouth

Few things signal the arrival of fall in downtown Plymouth quite like Scarecrows in the Park.

Beginning September 25 and continuing through November 2, 2026, 100 scarecrows will once again fill Kellogg Park, each created by members of the Plymouth community.

The result is one of Plymouth's most recognizable fall traditions—and an easy reason to spend an October afternoon exploring downtown.

What Is Scarecrows in the Park?

Scarecrows in the Park brings community-created scarecrows into the heart of downtown Plymouth for more than a month.

Local businesses, nonprofit organizations, community groups and residents have the opportunity to create their own designs, which are displayed throughout Kellogg Park.

Some are traditional. Others are elaborate, funny or completely unexpected.

And because the display is located outside in the center of downtown, you don't need tickets or an elaborate plan to enjoy it.

Simply head to Kellogg Park and start walking.

When Can You See the Scarecrows?

The 2026 display runs:

September 25–November 2, 2026

That makes essentially the entire month of October a perfect time to see the park.

It also means you can combine the scarecrows with some of Plymouth's other October activities rather than planning your entire visit around a single event date.

Make a Fall Day Out of Downtown Plymouth

One of the advantages of Scarecrows in the Park is its location.

Kellogg Park sits directly in the center of downtown Plymouth, surrounded by restaurants, coffee shops and local businesses.

A simple fall itinerary could look like this:

Grab coffee downtown.
Start your morning or afternoon at one of Plymouth's local coffee shops.

Walk through Kellogg Park.
Take your time looking at the different scarecrow designs and, of course, take plenty of photos.

Explore downtown.
Walk Main Street and the surrounding blocks for shopping and local businesses.

Stay for lunch or dinner.
There are plenty of options within walking distance of the park, so there's no need to move the car between every stop.

Pumpkin Palooza Returns October 18

If you're visiting with kids, Sunday, October 18 may be the day to choose.

Downtown Plymouth's annual Pumpkin Palooza takes place from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

The family-friendly Halloween celebration includes downtown trick-or-treating, entertainment and costume fun. The streets become part of the experience as families visit participating businesses throughout downtown.

And because Scarecrows in the Park is happening at the same time, families can experience both events in one trip.

Don't Forget the Plymouth Community Farmers Market

October also brings the final weeks of the Plymouth Community Farmers Market.

The market is scheduled on Saturdays through October 24, giving visitors another reason to make an October morning out of downtown Plymouth.

Pair the market with the scarecrows, breakfast or lunch downtown, and you've got an easy fall Saturday without having to travel far from Metro Detroit.

Why Downtown Plymouth Stands Out

Events like Scarecrows in the Park also demonstrate one of the qualities that attracts people to Plymouth: downtown is a true community gathering place.

Kellogg Park isn't separated from the surrounding businesses and residential community. It's integrated directly into the center of town.

Throughout the year, downtown hosts concerts, festivals, markets and seasonal events—and the surrounding streets offer shopping, dining and places to spend time outside.

For someone considering living in Plymouth, that creates a lifestyle you can't fully understand by simply looking at homes online.
